The 74-year-old diva is releasing a new compilation album titled “Love Songs.” Due Feb. 4 on Parlophone Records – just in time for Valentine’s Day – the 18-track collection boasts familiar favorites like “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” “The Best,” “Private Dancer” and “I Don’t Wanna Fight.”
The bad news? There are no new songs or previously unreleased tunes on the album.
Also, it’s unlikely Turner will make any promotional appearances in support of the album, as she is “happily retired” from the music business — according to her spokesperson.
Turner’s last studio album, “Twenty Four Seven,” reached No. 21 on the Billboard 200 chart upon its release in 1999, and has sold 517,000 in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan. She has since issued two greatest hits albums (“All the Best” in 2005 and “Tina!” in 2008) and a live set in 2009 (“Tina Live”) based on her 2008-2009 tour.
The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame inductee — and eight-time Grammy Award winner — has charted 17 solo hit singles on the Billboard Hot 100. Her first solo hit, a cover of “Let’s Stay Together,” debuted on the chart 30 years ago this year (on Jan. 21, 1984). Before that, as part of the duo Ike & Tina Turner, she notched 20 hits from 1960 through 1975.
NEW YORK — NBC is confirming that Bill Cosby is developing a possible new sitcom he would star in.
The deal brings the 76-year-old entertainer together with a writing staff to create a script for a comedy that casts Cosby as the patriarch of a multigenerational family.
An NBC spokesman said Wednesday that, as yet, there is no series order, nor even a deal to produce a pilot episode.
Cosby’s greatest TV triumph began at NBC three decades ago, when “The Cosby Show” launched in September 1984. It ran for eight seasons.
Less successful was “Cosby,” another sitcom that aired on CBS for four seasons starting in 1996.
His latest TV venture is “Bill Cosby: Far From Finished,” a stand-up comedy special that premiered on Comedy Central in November.
Cosby’s new project was first reported by Deadline Hollywood.

LOS ANGELES- A lawsuit over the payout of a $17.5 million policy related to Michael Jackson's planned comeback concerts has been settled, attorneys told a judge on Wednesday.
Lawyers for Certain Underwriters at Lloyd's of London and Jackson's estate announced the settlement before a hearing that would have altered what evidence would be presented at trial. Lawyers for the insurer and Jackson's estate did not know how the judge was planning to rule before announcing they had resolved the case.
Lloyd's sued Jackson's estate in 2011 seeking to nullify a non-appearance and concert cancellation policy that it issued roughly two months before Jackson's death in June 2009. The insurer contended that an examination of Jackson that was required for the policy was not completed and the promoter of the "This Is It" shows did not disclose everything it knew about the singer's health when it took out the policy.
Howard Weitzman, an attorney for Jackson's estate and Paul K. Shrieffer, who represented Lloyd's, said both sides are pleased the case was resolved. "Terms of any settlement are confidential," Weitzman said.
The case, if it had gone to trial, would have put the focus once again on Jackson's health in the weeks and months before he died.
A trial had been scheduled for Feb. 24.
The insurer had initially sued Jackson's concert promoter, AEG Live LLC, but the company was later dismissed.
The case was one of several that continue to be heard in Los Angeles courts focusing on Jackson's life and untimely death. A judge on Monday refused to order a retrial in a lawsuit filed by Jackson's mother against AEG Live that contended it negligently hired the doctor convicted of killing her son.
The former cardiologist, Conrad Murray, also has an appeal of his involuntary manslaughter convictions pending.
The settlement of Jackson's estate also remains pending, with claims by the singer's former manager yet to be ruled upon.
