Blues legend  B.B. King was reported to be hospitalized in Las Vegas recently because of a diabetes-related ailment. But his daughter, Claudette, told the Los Angeles Times that the 89-year- old King ``is much better" since he was hospitalized suffering from dehydration caused by his Type II diabetes. He was taken to a hospital in Las Vegas, where he has a home, over the weekend, the celebrity news website TMZ.com reported. King was diagnosed with diabetes more than two decades ago, according to The Times. Last October, he fell ill during a show, was diagnosed with dehydration and exhaustion and canceled the rest of his concert tour, the newspaper reported.

 

King began his recording career in the 1940s and has released more than 50 albums, according to his website. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
