The YDFF is an opportunity for middle and high school student filmmakers, who study their craft at organizations and schools across the globe, to showcase their work.  Films should be 1-to-60 minutes in length and of any genre.

“Young people are an important part of the founding and ongoing work of the BHERC,” said

BHERC YDFF Director Billie Green. “This festival, the YDFF, is presented annually to continue the BHERC mission to provide an outlet and opportunity for young filmmakers, to share their stories about issues, challenges, and successes to a broad audience.”

The festival includes post-screening Q and A discussions, panel dialogues and seminars that serve as platforms for emerging young directors and filmmakers at all levels.

Participants display their work, skills, talent, and vision with other youth filmmakers while giving the audience a chance to view and discuss the artistry, passion, and sacrifice involved in the independent filmmaking process.  The students also receive industry insight through industry panels held by entertainment professionals.
