The Kansas City Chiefs will battle the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII on February 12 at 3:30P.M. PST at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Super Bowl LVII will feature two black quarterbacks (Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts) and a pair of brothers (Jason and Travis Kelce) going head-to-head for the first time in history.

Hurts, a second-round pick in the 2020 Draft, started as a back-up quarterback to Carson Wentz for Philadelphia. By the next season, he clinched the starting role and led the Eagles to a 8-7 overall record and a trip to the Playoffs.

This year, his 66.3 percent in pass completions, 3701 in-season passing yards and 22 touchdown passes led Philadelphia to a 14-3 overall record.

"You work really hard to put yourself in this position and I'm forever grateful,” Hurts said. “Only God knows the things that each individual on this team has been able to overcome for us to come together as a team and do something special as a group.”

Hurts was drafted to the Eagles after a strong college campaign that started with the Alabama Crimson Tide. He won SEC Freshman of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year in 2016.

As a sophomore, he helped Alabama reach the CFP National Championship which they ultimately won.

Like Hurts, Mahomes led the Chiefs to a 14-3 overall record. During this season, he went for 67.1 percent in pass completions as well as racking up 5250 passing yards and 41 touchdown passes.

This will be Mahomes’ third Super Bowl. He helped the Chiefs defeat the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 in Super Bowl LIV and lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-9 in Super Bowl LV.

“When I first got in the league, it all happened so fast. I won MVP, I won the Super Bowl and I thought that’s just how it went,” Mahomes said.

“Now that I’ve dealt with failure: losing the AFC championship, losing the Super Bowl, I know how much hard work and daily grind that it takes, I’m just excited to get to that game.”

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was a teammate of Mahomes through their past two Super Bowl appearances.

This season, he made 110 catches for 1338 yards and 12 touchdowns. His elder brother Jason was a member of the Eagles squad that defeated the New England Patriots 41-33 in Super Bowl LII. Some people have nicknamed Super Bowl LVII “The Kelce Bowl.”

“My mom can’t lose,” Travis said. "It’s gonna be an amazing feeling playing against him and obviously I respect everybody over there in the Eagles organization. You won’t see me talking too much trash because of how much respect and how much I love my brother.”

The Kelce brothers host a podcast called “New Heights” where they talk about current events in the NFL and their personal experiences. The first episode of “New Heights” was released in September 2022.
